Daily Pioneer reported that continuing its consistent performance in the current fiscal year 2012-13, Bhilai Steel Plant, the flagship unit of the public sector Steel Authority of India Ltd, has exceeded its annual business plan targets in the area of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel production in the month of November 2012.
A statement said that the Plant continued to operate above the ABP targets in hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel during the month and achieved a fulfillment of 106.3%, 107.7 and 105.4% of ABP respectively.
During April to November, 2012, cumulatively also plant maintained the production above ABP targets and simultaneously registered a growth of 5.4%, 6.8% and 6.4% over previous year in hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel respectively.
In November 2012, the Plant also exceeded its ABP targets in the production of total sinter, total cast steel, ingots rolled, production of rails and structurals, total merchant products and wire rods. Production of Round & Bars at 47,300 tonnes and production of TMT Bars at 45,000 tonnes from Merchant Mill, number of heats through RH Degasser at 1,103 and number of heats through Secondary route at 1496 were all the best ever November performances recorded so far.
Likewise, production of 1,80,060 tonne from SMS 2, production of 5,25,000 tonnes of rails & structurals, loading of 93,900 tonnes of long rails, 9,700 number of heats through Ladle Furnace, 8,773 number of heats through RH Degasser and 11,953 number of heats through Secondary route were all the best ever cumulative performances for April to November period in any fiscal year so far since inception.
Besides hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel production for the April to November period, the Plant also exceeded its ABP targets in cumulative production of total sinter, ingots rolled, billets production, production of light and heavy structurals, total merchant products and wire rods.
